Millfield Public School's the Place to Bee!

At Millfield Public School, we’re excited to offer Your Hive, a dynamic, year-long program designed to immerse students in the fascinating world of beekeeping while integrating core concepts across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs).

This innovative program features 3-4 engaging lesson units per term, each lasting up to two hours. Students will explore science, sustainability, mathematics, and creative arts through hands-on activities and real-world applications.

Central to the program is our very own Flow Hive 2+ and European Honeybee Colony. Depending on safety assessments, the hive may be hosted at a remote apiary or on-site, providing students with direct insights into the lifecycle of bees, the importance of pollination, and environmental stewardship.

Our Hybrid Engagement approach ensures students stay connected and inspired throughout the journey. Interactive online sessions include AMA (Ask Me Anything) opportunities with experts, exciting trivia challenges, and a state-wide Top Bee Leaderboard, encouraging collaboration and healthy competition with other schools.
